I’m Mary Scott and I started Dog Think to provide affordable dog training services using science-based positive reinforcement. My unique board and train program allows your dog to live in our home as one of ours. Dogs learn practical skills, manners, and behavior modification when needed. They are exposed to enrichment activities and go on outings when appropriate. Board and train includes a follow up visit after your dog returns home to review skills that were learned. I also offer private lessons in your home or mine. Day training in my home is also available. Whether you are working through problem behavior, building strong foundational skills, or training complex obedience or trick skills, my customized programs promote lasting results you can feel confident maintaining.

My approach combines decades of experience in healthcare, behavioral health, and animal training with modern, science-based positive reinforcement methods. I believe training should be fun and not intimidating for you or your dog.
From behavior modification to complex training needs, I work closely with each family to design a customized training plan that fits your dog’s personality, your lifestyle, and your goals.

I've had the joy of working with dogs and their owners through group classes, private lessons, and shelter volunteering. I've earned advanced AKC obedience, rally and trick dog titles as well as evaluating and working with therapy dogs that visited hospitals. I also bring extensive experience training and competing equines across multiple disciplines. Previously, I was a certified riding instructor and taught people of all ages and abilities. These experiences have shaped my well-rounded approach to working with both animals and their owners.

Private in-home dog training sessions are fully customized to your dog’s needs and your household environment. By training in your home, we address real-life challenges such as leash pulling, jumping, reactivity, and listening skills where they matter most.

Program
The Board & Train Program provides structured daily dog training while you’re away. Dogs learn essential obedience skills, manners, and confidence-building behaviors through positive reinforcement, dog socialization and individualized attention.
This program is ideal for owners looking for consistent training support and reliable progress.

Day School offers focused, structured dog training sessions designed to fit busy schedules. Dogs receive hands-on training, enrichment, and guided socialization to build essential obedience skills and confidence.
